The farm’s 125-acres have helped provide for the
region for over two centuries. Owner John Hodsdon
represents the sixth generation of continuous family
ownership that stretches to 1801, when Hezekiah and
Polly Smith took possession of the
farm after relocating
from Meredith Center. The site includes a 1769 farmhouse,
Meredith’s second oldest historic structure. “Picnic Rock” refers to a boulder
on the farm
where, in days gone by, family members and friends
would gather.
